Jasmin Sethi

Jasmin Sethi is a lawyer, economist, entrepreneur, and thought leader with over a decade of experience in the financial industry.  Throughout her work with companies and non-profits, Jasmin promotes the financial access, literacy, and empowerment of individuals.

As CEO of Sethi Clarity Advisers since 2018, Jasmin helps financial firms turn regulatory challenges into business opportunities by advocating on policy matters to government agencies, advising on compliance issues, partnering on entrepreneurial endeavors to further product innovation, and assists with client acquisition through investor education and business strategy. Her tremendous work has been recognized by her long-term client Morningstar, with the title of Associate Director of Policy Research. Other clients include Saifr, a compliance innovator being incubated by Fidelity Labs – and Blueprint Income – an annuities aggregator recently acquired by Mass Mutual. Additionally, Jasmin serves on the SEC Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee, the Pension Action Center Advisory Board and Harvard Club of Philadelphia board.

Jasmin mentors a number of start-ups through participation in the External Review Committee for Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners and as a mentor in the Founders Institute program.  As a blind, South-Asian woman, Jasmin is passionate about advancing the financial acumen and financial access of disadvantaged groups. She is a contributor to Forbes, Advisor Perspectives, and other financial publications.

Prior to founding Sethi Clarity Advisers, Jasmin was a Vice President in BlackRock’s Legal and Compliance group, where she collaborated with individuals in the legal, business, and government relations groups to advocate for BlackRock’s views on a variety of issues globally. Before joining BlackRock, Jasmin was Special Counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Trading and Markets in the Office of Market Supervision and was also an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center and SEC University. Earlier in her career, Jasmin was an Associate at Mayer Brown in Washington, D.C., where she practiced general litigation.

Jasmin received her JD, PhD in economics, and undergraduate degrees from Harvard University. As a Fulbright Scholar in 2001, she earned an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In her free time, she mentors high school students on financial literacy, college choice, and career development through the iMentor program. Jasmin enjoys tandem biking, wine tasting, and travel.
