Don Langevoort


Donald C. Langevoort is the Thomas Aquinas Reynolds Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C.  His research focuses on securities regulation, with particular attention to the institutional structure of the Securities & Exchange Commission; securities class actions; and the role of behavioral research on regulation and compliance in the financial services industry.  In addition to nearly a hundred law review articles and book chapters, he is the author of Selling Hope, Selling Risk: Corporations, Wall Street, and the Dilemmas of Investor Protection (Oxford U. Press, 2016) and Insider Trading: Regulation, Enforcement and Prevention (West Publishing, revised annually), and the co-author with James Cox, Robert Hillman and Ann Lipton of Securities Regulation: Cases and Materials (Wolters Kluewer, 10th edition 2022). Professor Langevoort has testified numerous times before committees of Congress on securities law reform issues.
