Megan Monroe

Megan has 21 years of experience in the financial compliance sector. In 2018 she transitioned from traditional Finance and FinTech roles, to focus exclusively on the Blockchain industry. She is the Head of Compliance for TBD, a new business unit at Block, Inc. that is building a decentralized ecosystem for traditional payment methods that  leverages decentralized identity technology to meet compliance and regulatory obligations. 

Prior to joining TBD, she spent five years as a Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Director at OKCoin, Coinbase and Huobi US, where she was responsible for guiding the business to develop new cryptocurrency based products and features while navigating the constantly evolving global regulatory landscape. 

Megan’s traditional financial services positions included 2 years at Intuit, where she was responsible for AML compliance, and led the money transmission licensing strategy for Mint and Intuit’s regulated payments products. She also spent 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in both the US and London offices, advising global financial services companies; and 2 years at Barclays Bank in London. Megan graduated from the University of Southern California with degrees in Political Science and French and is currently based in San Francisco, CA.
