Deidre Downes
Deidre Downes is an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management and the Chief Compliance Officer of the Morgan Stanley Funds. Deidre joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management as an Executive Director in January of 2021 and assumed the role of Chief Compliance Officer of the Morgan Stanley Funds in November 2021.
Deidre has extensive experience in the asset management industry, joining Morgan Stanley most recently from Prudential Financial where she served as senior counsel with responsibility for distribution of investment product, provision of legal advice with respect to mutual funds, UCITS funds and investment advisory services, broker-dealer matters, and new product development. Prior to that, Deidre served as senior counsel at Delaware Investments for nine years following work at law firms. Deidre earned a JD from Harvard Law School and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, summa cum laude, from Temple University.
