Chris Cosby
Chris Cosby is Director of EBSA’s Office of Exemptions Determinations (OED). Prior to becoming OED Director, Chris served for many years as Chief of the Regulatory Policy Analysis in EBSA’s Office of Policy and Research where he developed regulatory impact analyses for EBSA’s pension and health regulations and class prohibited transaction exemptions and helped ensure that EBSA’s rulemaking activities were conducted in conformance with Administration, Departmental, and statutory requirements. In addition to his public service, Chris practiced law at major law firm, served as a compliance practice leader at a national consulting firm, and was as a senior executive at a national tax publishing company. He earned a B.A. (Government) from Franklin and Marshall College, a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, and a LL.M. and an Employee Benefits Certificate from the Georgetown University Law Center.
