Russell Minetti serves as a Director on the firm’s Data & Research team. Based in New York, Russell’s multidisciplinary role encompasses a variety of functions important to the firm, including research content & applications, academic engagement, and monitoring industry & regulatory developments to ensure continued leadership in the company’s offerings and client engagements.
Russell joined ETF Global in July 2015 and quickly made an impact in ETFG’s involvement in the academic space. Leading a two-pronged effort focused on research and education, Russell and his team rapidly developed and scaled ETFG’s academic footprint through supplying data to universities to and hosting a world-wide virtual investment competition for students. ETFG’s data is now used to support academic research papers and classwork and its investment competition, the ETF Global Portfolio Challenge, serves as an interactive way to educate college students about ETFs.
Recently, Russell has helped ETF Global develop data solutions to assist ETF issuers in meeting the new public disclosure requirements under SEC Rule 6c-11. In addition to his work on Rule 6c-11, Russell and his team host a semiannual conference, the ETP Forum, where much focus and discussion is devoted to the changing ETF regulatory terrain and its impact on the compliance requirements of participants throughout the ETF ecosystem.
Russell graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2015, where he received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs, and is currently a CFA candidate.
