Ms. Hermida is the Anti-Bribery and Corruption Officer at USAA and responsible for the Company’s anti-bribery and corruption, U.S. political activities, corporate responsibility and conduct risk compliance programs. Prior to joining USAA, Ms. Hermida served as the Chief Ethics Officer and Head of Citigroup’s Global Ethics Office from 2007 to 2018. As such, she was responsible for developing, implementing and communicating Citi’s ethical principles and values, and integrating the global ethics programs into business strategies. As Head of Citi’s Global Ethics Office, she developed and implemented Citi’s Code of Conduct, oversaw internal investigations, and provided ethics advisory services. She led a team of dedicated global professionals and worked with cross-functional teams in order to promote ethical workplace behavior and business practices across a global workforce. Previously, Ms. Hermida held various positions of increasing responsibility at Citigroup, including that of General Counsel to Women & Co. – a membership service focused on providing financial insights and resources to the women’s market – and Associate General Counsel for Citigroup’s bank broker/dealer.
Prior to joining Citigroup, Ms. Hermida was Deputy General Counsel for Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., an independent securities broker/dealer and investment adviser owned by AIG.
Ms. Hermida began her legal career as a litigation associate with the law firm of Shanley & Fisher in New Jersey.
Since 2000, Ms. Hermida has been an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She has also been an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law and is a frequent speaker at conferences and universities. Ms. Hermida is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Ms. Hermida holds a degree in finance from the Stern School of Business of New York University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
