Kami Niebank is the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for CalPERS. In 2014, she served as the Interim Chief Compliance Officer where she built a 5-year Compliance Plan, reorganized the compliance program and launched the implementation of the compliance transformation. Prior to joining Enterprise Compliance, she held various leadership roles at CalPERS, including the Chief of Investment Policy and Operations during the height of the financial crisis and the Chief of Strategic Management Services.
Over Kami’s career, she has led many organizational transformation efforts and is well-versed in business management practices and principles. She received her MBA, with a concentration in Financial Planning, from California Lutheran University. She serves on CalPERS Trust Level Risk & Attribution Committee and Compliance and Risk Committee. In 2016, Compliance Week named Kami as one of the Top Minds, representing thought leaders in ethics and compliance.
