Mr. Krawitz is a Senior Special Counsel in the Division of Investment Management (IM) of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he is responsible for developing a new liaison function with the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations.
Prior to that, he led policy initiatives on a variety of issues concerning the asset management industry as a Branch Chief in IM’s Rulemaking Office.
Before joining IM, Mr. Krawitz was a Senior Counsel in the Asset Management Unit of the Division of Enforcement, where he investigated potential misconduct in the asset management industry.
Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Krawitz was associated with Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP and Patton Boggs LLP. Mr. Krawitz received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law and his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Krawitz was formerly a field artillery Captain in the United States Army.
