Daniel joined the Investec group of companies in 2003 after spending 4 years as a financial advisor with Prudential Financial. His primary responsibilities include working directly with clients overseeing their financial planning and investment management goals. Daniel helps clients achieve financial independence by prudently managing their investment portfolios and designing a plan for their retirement cash flow needs through the firm’s exclusive retirement planning process. He works very closely with many of the firm’s long-term clients as well as their adult children. In addition to assisting clients achieve their financial and investment goals, Daniel is also charged with the responsibility of investment research and analysis, strategic financial planning and Chief Compliance Officer.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin, Daniel graduated from Prudential Securities’ Financial Planner Career Development Program in 1999. He is a Certified Financial Planner® professional. Upon successfully completing coursework at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Daniel was also named a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, an advanced designation specifically for investment consultants who have met both experience and ethical requirements.
Daniel is a national member of the Financial Planning Association and is active in the local Houston chapter. He also serves on the Board for the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. Daniel participated in the Houston chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), a select group for young entrepreneurs worldwide. He is a graduate of the 2016 Schwab Executive Leadership program, a group of next-gen registered investment advisors who met with each other, university professors and Schwab management to learn and share experiences relating to leadership in their financial advisory firms.
Daniel has been profiled by the Houston Chronicle and is often called upon by local publications such as the Houston Business Journal to offer his insight on the financial markets and economic issues. Daniel has also appeared in Texas Monthly’s list of 5-Star Wealth Managers in Customer Satisfaction from 2010 – 2017. Investec was named a top wealth manager by the National Association of Board Certified Advisory Practices (NABCAP) from 2011 – 2014, the only years that NABCAP presented this award to advisors. Investec was named by the Houston Business Journal as a Top Money Management Firm in 2015 and 2018 and among the largest Wealth Management firms in Houston in 2016 and 2017.
Daniel was born in Durban, South Africa and has lived in Houston since 1981. He and his wife, Miriam, have three children.
